Bronzer Makeup Tips

By Richmond at 2010-04-21 01:22:25
Anyone who knows me is aware that love MAC and Nars, and yes once again I say that these two lines have two of the best daily powder bronzers. Try MAC Refined Golden powder bronzer for a gorgeous golden glow or Nars in Laguna. Use MAC brush #129 which is a middle sized powder brush to lightly dust the bronzer under your cheek bones, around the your line, in your temples, on the sides and under your nose, under your chin, and my personal favorite under your chin onto your neck.

Makeup classes like these are often free, but sometimes stores or brands will charge a nominal fee. Classes are usually kept small (30 people or less), and in some cases hands-on (as was the MAC Studio Talk class), where you're able to apply products on yourself. Other times, they'll be more lecture-style. To reserve a spot in a MAC Studio Talk class through Bloomingdale's costs $75, but that amount also applies toward the purchase of MAC products at the end of the class.

Cleansing and moisturizing skin every morning and night are important pieces to the makeup puzzle. Healthy skin is beautiful skin, and the healthier your skin, the better your makeup will look. For optimally healthy skin, it is important to eat nutritiously, drink plenty of fluids, steer clear of tanning and wear sun block when out of doors, and avoid smoking and smoky atmospheres.

You've been inside all winter (well most of us) and your skin may show it. Bring a warm-weather heartbeat right to your smile by applying a little bronzer (crème or powder) underneath your cheekbones. It works to perk up your skin and your smile in one easy step. Choose a light color that would naturally reflect the transition of your skin to tanned to look natural.

Choose foundations or tinted moisturizers that are yellow-toned, as they tend to tone down redness or ruddy skin very well. Avoid thick foundation. Keep it sheer to avoid textures that will highlight your wrinkles instead of hiding them. If you have too many freckles or brown spots, you may use cream or gel bronzer to correct that and add some healthy glow to your skin. If you have some extra fullness around your chin, you can use foundation to conceal that problem by applying a thick line of foundation along your jaw line with a Q-tip, blurring the line with a sponge, then drawing attention upwards with a good cheek and eye makeup.

Transform your look through color. Start moving from the pastels of summer to the more earthy tones of fall. Your eyeshadow may go from the pinks and blue hues of summer, to more earthen shades like oranges and browns for the fall months. Do the same with your blush. Add a little glow to your cheeks, but do not over emphasizes sun tan colors. Your skin should be transitioning to a more natural look.

A foundation with yellow undertones is necessary to properly match skin coloring, though this may prove difficult to find. Most major foundations have either orange or red undertones, but having the correct base color will make a huge difference on Asian skin.

For great looking eyes make sure to use powder shadows for a natural look and a eyeliner pencil for drama at night. Make sure the liner has a smudge tip at one end to get that smoky eye look. Only line the top of the eye is you're looking tired. You don't want to bring more attention to dark circles under the eyes. Neutral tones with a hint of color are flattering on everybody.
